Detour

Newfoundland Ferry's crossing at North Sydney

Tuesday August 9 2016

We drove into the small village of North Sydney. It's only claim to fame is the Newfoundland Ferry Terminal. From a small park along the harbor we watched as one ferry left and another docked. We found a bank and got some more Canadian cash, ate lunch at a local restaurant, browsed in the Salvation Army store.

We've kind of reached a funk in the trip, we can't seem to get excited about another winding coastal road or another historic fort. After some soul searching this afternoon, Millie and I have decided we need an adventure and are leaving the tour for a couple days. We are going to wander around on our own and rejoin the tour group on Prince Edward Island.

The best explanation I can come up with for our behavior is; the open road is calling and we just gotta go!
